You need to prepare your home for sale by making it as appealing as possible to prospective buyers.  Clean up the yard so that the first impression of your home is favorable.  If you have to invest money to paint the exterior of your home you'll probably gain it back by asking more for the initial cost of your home.

The more prepared you are for the viewing of your home the more offers you'll get in the long run.
